Like all great ideas, the concept is simple. Here is how it works.

Booksellers from all over the world have listed their rare new or used book inventory for sale on a single site.

You can find best sellers, rare books, new books, used textbooks and bargains galore in every conceivable category.

There is a highly developed search function. If your search skills are not also highly developed do not worry you will still easily find the books you are looking for.

To demonstrate the potential of finding a particular used book I ran a simple search.

Because I am Canadian, I picked the first Canadian author that popped into my head, namely Pierre Berton. Actually, I misspelled it as Burton and quickly found my error in the resulting listings, which in itself was quite impressive.

Total listings found 4,602 - Prices ranged from $1.00 to $165.69.

This is obviously too many to scroll through so from a drop down menu I selected Canada to find how many were available in Canada. That yielded 2204 listings in Canada. I was curious as to where the balance of the listings might be so I repeated the search for other countries with the following results: U.S.A. 2,170 - U.K. 152 - Australia 28 books.

With all due respect, to Mr. Berton, I was surprised to find that number of his listings outside of Canada.

Due to the world wide participation of the book stores, pricing is always in American dollars for the sake of continuity. Prices ranged from $1.00 to over $100,000.

Note: A further exploratory used book search for a well-known classic romance author, namely Jane Austen, resulted in 10,593 listings with prices from $1 - $75000.
