Las Vegas poker rooms and how get poker player rates for hotel rooms.

Las Vegas poker rooms can be found in most of the major casinos both on the strip and downtown Vegas.

The best are the Bellagio on the strip and Binions downtown where it all started for poker.

During my brief visit in February 2007 the level of poker tournaments that I was seeking were not available at that time so I cannot give any kind of in depth report.

One of the discoveries that I have made, during my poker card room forays, is how to get the usually unadvertised hotel rooms, in which to stay, that have a special poker player discount. These special rates are not always available and most often you have to follow a procedure to get them.

Here is what you should do.

Go to the poker room early in the day and ask for the person that is in charge of hotel room availability at a special rate for poker players. If rooms are available this person can get one for you.

There is usually a requirement to play a certain number of hours per day to qualify for the lowest rate. You must always expect to pay the going room rate on weekends.

If more than one person is in a room the required hours of play often can be split between both people. If comps are offered at the tables apply them to your room if you want to.

Follow my poker tournament adventures in my Poker Blog you never know what neat poker tournament and related stuff you may find useful.
