Experience the great
Canadian outdoors with a
Canada canoe trip in Algonquin Park

How to book a Canada canoe trip? If you love the outdoors, as I do, there is no greater way to experience the Canadian wilderness than from a Canadian canoe in places like Algonquin park in Ontario.

For over twenty years I traveled to Algonquin park for a week of camping and canoing. The experiences and stories I could tell would fill a book.

I introduced my son and his best friend to a Algonquin Park canoe trip when they were just ten years old. The poor little devils sure suffered with all that portaging, setting up and breaking camp not to mention the paddling.

The following and subsequent summers those two boys older, stronger and smarter, could not wait to conquer Algonquin park in a canoe again. Our last trip together was when they were sixteen years old, accompanied by two cousins from the U.K.

That truly remarkable trip spawned stories that are told on both sides of the Atlantic ocean to this very day.

It has been eighteen years since that last trip but every summer our Canada canoe trips in Algonquin Park are remembered usually at a pig roast or some other gathering. Yes, my friends, for a holiday that will provide truly great memories of the great natural Canadian outdoors nothing can compare to a Canada canoe trip in one of Ontario's great natural parks.

There are a variety of trips available ranging from three to eight days. You can choose to go canoing only, canoing and hiking combo, or hiking only. If you prefer not to sleep in a tent there is a hiking trip available that allows you to relax at night in an upscale lodge. For the really adventurous there is an eight day trip that combines driving an all terrain vehicle, canoing and river rafting on the Ottawa river.

If you have some canoing experience you might consider a trip to Temagami, which is, so remote you have to fly in with canoes strapped to the pontoons of your plane.

Trips for women only, men only, families or groups big and small are easily arranged.

Algonquin Park is about a three-hour drive north from Toronto and Killarney Park is about five hours. If you prefer not to drive transportation from Toronto is available.

Everything that you need, except a sleeping bag, is supplied for your trip including food, tents, canoes etc.

Some trips for the long summer weekends are quickly booked solid so my advice is to book early and avoid being disappointed, as these trips are very popular.

The cry of the wolf the morning wake up call of the Loon and the Moose grazing in shallow waters provide just a few of the memories you will cherish for the rest of your life.
