Bob the Builder is loved by kids in most families and my family is no exception. My five year old nephew used to watch it with all his friends when they were about two or three and it just keeps appealing to the next lot of kids.

Bob and his construction team the Can-Dos were a big hit due to their positive message of seeing tasks through to the end and teamwork – "Can we fix it, yes we can!" They have also seen chart success with a single based on their catchphrase.

Bob’s team is made up of trucks and diggers like Gripper, Grabber and Tumbler, and they all deal with the everyday issues that come with being on a building site such as faxes and computers, but they also enjoy themselves and show kids that the fun is in getting it done. Spud the Scarecrow acts as a substitute for all the questions a child would want to ask, with Bob taking on the role of teacher. Spud also needs to be bailed out almost every episode, thus supplying the watching children with a valuable lesson as well as brightly coloured entertainment.
